Lesson four
-
Ostara Celebrations

Now that you’ve taken care of yourself and your home, now it’s time to think about how you’d like to celebrate Ostara and the start of Springtime. This lesson is simple - choose some activities that will help you enjoy the spring equinox and bring you some intentional joy!

Ostara Activity Ideas

Here are some easy and affordable Ostara activities you can do alone or with family and friends.

  • Plant seeds for a vegetable garden or flower garden.

  • Spring clean your house - Grab the Free Worksheet

  • Decorate an Ostara altar to honor your goddess of choice.  Popular Goddess associated with Springtime include Eiar, Eostre, Flora, Freya, and Persephone. Read more about the history Ostara lore and legends.

  • Decorate Eggs. If you don’t do animal products, you can paint wooden eggs or even rocks, instead. A bonus is they will last for years!

  • Cast an Ostara Spell or practice some other form of manifesting.  What would you like to let go or, or invite into your life?

  • Take a nature walk with loved ones and look for signs of spring

  • Host a tea party with a springtime theme. Here is some inspiration to get you started

  • Take time to meditate/journal and think about your intentions for the Spring season as it relates to the goals you want to achieve. Here is a free Ostara Intention worksheet to help you get started.

  • Pick or purchase a bouquet of fresh daffodils or other spring flowers. Keep them where you can see them and enjoy them all day.

  • Create a simple table centerpiece with a basket, fresh (or faux) grass and colorful eggs (real or fake).

  • Download free Ostara Word Art from the Mabon House Library.

  • Fill a cut glass serving dish with pastel candies. Cut glass is easy to find at thrift stores and is usually extremely inexpensive. Plus, you can use it for every holiday.

  • Nest some dyed eggs in fresh cut grass or other greenery for an easy centerpiece

  • Decorate your table with special china and linens.  If you don’t have special china, you can find lovely vintage dishes for pennies on the dollar at  most second hand shops and thrift stores.

  • Plan a special Ostara celebration meal. See a sample menu I used last year for Ostara. You can also grab a free Ostara meal planner in the member’s library.
